Look in a mirror and one thing’s sure; what we see is not who we are.

“You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self,
here and now, and nothing can stand in your way.”
~ Richard Bach, author of “Jonathan Livingston Seagull”
I know this. You know this. And yet, knowing the truth doesn’t necessarily mean we’re living it. The only thing that stands in our way of being who we really are is ourselves. Our beliefs and behaviors. Our attitudes and actions. Our choices equal our lives. If we truly want to be free, we’ve got to own all of them. When a significant gap exists between who you really are and how you’re being in the world, taking a good look in the mirror will reveal more than what your eyes see if you’re willing to look long enough. I know this. Perhaps you do, too.
Your reflection is more than a physical representation. It’s an exquisite opportunity to intimately experience what your truth is. It’s a work of art in progress. It’s a view into the infinite mystery of spirit. It’s God staring right back at you. You knew you were much more than just a pretty face, right?
Sometimes the truth hurts really sucks. Sometimes the truth feels awesome fucking amazing. Sometimes it helps knowing someone who’s been through something similar that you have; someone who appreciates how you’re feeling, someone who listens really well, someone who knows that empathy, compassion, and kindness are the best ways to understand another.
This is a place where truth-telling is encouraged, stories are shared, and freedom is celebrated. This is a place where we can keep each other honest and liberated. Let’s keep looking at ourselves and each other.
